VACANCY NOTICE – Information Officer, St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS)
The St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS) is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the post of Information Officer.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and disseminating Government-related information for public consumption. The post requires strong writing and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with media professionals, government ministries, NGOs, and the public to promote awareness of government policies, programmes, and national developments.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, or an equivalent field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in media, public communication, or information dissemination is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and edit radio and television programmes.
- Design programme concepts and conduct research related to current issues.
- Write Government news releases, bulletins, and vacancy announcements.
- Conduct interviews for radio and television.
- Disseminate news through digital platforms.
- Assist with documentary production and other public education materials.
Salary Scale: K33 – K38 ($64,087 – $82,115) per annum
