St. Kitts and Nevis Unveils Cutting-Edge Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) System to Revolutionize Border Security and Travel Efficiency
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, May 16, 2025 (SKNIS) — During the May 15th Sitting of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew unveiled a landmark advancement in the Federation’s border management and tourism infrastructure: the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) System, set to launch on May 26, 2025. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to innovation, national security, and seamless travel experiences.
“Today marks a transformative leap forward for Saint Kitts and Nevis,” declared Prime Minister Drew. “The eTA system embodies our vision of a safer, smarter and more connected nation.”
He continued, “By embracing digital innovation, we are not only protecting our borders but also positioning ourselves as a Caribbean leader in smart travel technology. I urge all travellers and stakeholders to join us in this exciting new chapter.”
The eTA system, accessible via a dedicated online portal and mobile app, will streamline pre-travel authorization for visitors while enhancing border security protocols. Starting May 26, travellers worldwide can apply through the official portal (www.knatravelform.kn) or via the mobile app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
To celebrate the launch, the government will offer a 50% discount on the standard eTA service charge through September 1, 2025, reducing the service charge to US$8.50. After September 1, 2025, the standard rate of US$17 will take effect.
On June 2, 2025, the Federation will further elevate its border infrastructure by integrating the eTA system with a state-of-the-art biometric corridor at the RLB International Airport. This integration will expedite passenger processing, reduce wait times and fortify national security through advanced identity verification.
The eTA system reflects the government’s strategic priorities under Prime Minister Drew’s leadership: fostering sustainable tourism, prioritizing national security, and leveraging technology to improve public services. This initiative aligns with global trends toward digitized border management, ensuring Saint Kitts and Nevis remains competitive in the international tourism sector.
Travelers and partners are encouraged to visit www.knatravelform.kn beginning May 26, 2025, or download the mobile app for seamless access to eTA services.
