“Saint Kitts and Nevis is the Gateway of Possibilities” Prime Minister Drew Welcomes Global Investors
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, May 27, 2025 (PMO) — Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, officially opened the second annual Investment Gateway Summit today, June 2nd, delivering a powerful message that positioned the Federation as a dynamic platform for global partnership, sustainable growth, and shared prosperity.
In his address, Prime Minister Drew welcomed hundreds of delegates from around the world, noting that the Summit marks a significant moment not just for the nation’s investment sector, but for its enduring leadership in the global investment migration industry. “Here, in Saint Kitts and Nevis, possibility is not an abstract idea. It is real, it is tangible, and it is waiting for us to seize it together.”
Highlighting Saint Kitts and Nevis’ pioneering role as the birthplace of the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) industry more than 40 years ago, Prime Minister Drew underscored the country’s evolution as a global leader that continues to redefine standards of integrity, transparency, and innovation. “What began here, on these very shores, has since been adopted, adapted, and emulated across the globe. Yet even as others have followed, Saint Kitts and Nevis has remained at the forefront, not by resting on past achievements, but by continuously renewing our commitment to global excellence.”
The Prime Minister also praised the transformative work of the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) under its current leadership, noting that recent reforms, technological advancements, and strengthened regulatory oversight have elevated Saint Kitts and Nevis as a model for responsible investment migration.
At the heart of the Prime Minister’s message was a call for true partnership, where investment serves not only to yield financial returns but to contribute to national development, job creation, and the empowerment of the Kittitian and Nevisian people. “We are not here today to speak only about transactions; we are here to speak about partnerships. Real partnerships that build homes, strengthen communities, and open doors not just for those who invest here, but for the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis who call these islands home every single day,” he emphasized.
The Investment Gateway Summit continues over the next several days, bringing together leading international stakeholders, policymakers, and investors for critical discussions on the future of investment migration, economic diversification, and global collaboration.
